An early variety. Shannon produces high early yields of large good eating potatoes particularly suitable for baking. Susceptible to powdery scab, potato virus Yo, potato cyst nematode globodera pallida Pa2/3,1 and Globodera rostochienisis Ro1. Tests show resistance to common scab, potato leafroll virus, bruising and splitting.
