Very robust variety. It is extremely high yielding and very uniform. Cara is also a versatile potato suitable for a wide range of culinary uses including chipping. Susceptible to Dry rot Fusarium sulphureum Powdery scab, potato cyst nematode Globodera pallida Pa2/3,1. Tests show resistance to late blight on tubers, Silver scurf, common scab potato virus Yo, Bruising and Splitting. Cara is resistant to potato cyst nematode Globodera rostochiensis Ro1.
